Q

Where can I buy a GIANT magnolia flower?

I know that giant magnolia flowers are hard to grow, and usually from the south. Is there green houses that I can pre-order a magnolia flower before it blooms.

Answer

Magnolia flowers grow on a tree, and are in bloom in our area in early spring. So you will have to go the route of getting help from the cut flower industry in NYC. You could ask the wholesale flower vendors in the NYC flower district on 28th St., between 6th and 7th regarding availability coming from outside the U.S. Two top cut flower wholesalers are G. Page and Associated. See their contact numbers here https://www.google.com/search?q=Gpage+cut+flowers&hl=en&biw=&bih=&gbv=2&oq=Gpage+cut+flowers&gs_l=heirloom-serp.3..0i22i30.5021.8493.0.8603.17.8.0.9.9.0.78.532.8.8.0....0...1ac.1.34.heirloom-serp..0.17.532.7KMbFcO_V30

You don't have to be in the industry to buy flowers from their stores that open very early in the morning. Call after lunch and they may be more available to answer your questions. They are across from one another on opposite sides of the street on 28th St. if you want to pop in their stores ask the manager for assistance. They sure have connections from flower dealers all over the world. Let me know how it goes.
