Once a Phalaenopsis orchid completes blooming, do I cut the stalk?

Answer

Yes, cut the stalk with a sterile sharp cutting tool. Cut all the way down where the stalk originates, as close as possible. This technique will give the plant a rest and help force new healthy flowers for the next growing season.
