There are many "cool weather crops" that can be direct-sown starting in April. These include peas, mache, arugula, spinach, broccoli, brussel sprouts, cabbage, kohlrabi, lettuce, collard greens, fava beans, kale, mustard greens, onions, radish, Swiss chard, and more!
