Thank you for your kind offer, Ms. Garrett.

I have, however, checked with our Horticulture and Operations departments and have been told that we have all the sand we need, and all we can store, at the present time.  With winter on the way, we have already replenished our supply for the coming season.

You might find that having some extra sand ready to sprinkle on your sidewalk after a snow or ice storm could be useful, or if you drive, it can be welcome if your car is stuck in a slippery patch.  Alternatively, if you are a gardener and your soil is too heavy, sand can be worked in to lighten it up a bit.  Perhaps someone in your community has an aquarium that needs refreshing, or a children's program has a sandbox or crafts table. You can also check with Brooklyn Botanical Garden, and Wave Hill Gardens.

Again, thanks for thinking of us.
