When can I plant tomatoes outdoors in the Northeast?

Answer

The last frost date in the NYC (five boroughs) area is April 8th, although night temperatures need to stay in the 60s for tropical-origin tomatoes to grow well. Tomatoes catch up fast, so planting later is fine.
