Answer

Hurricane Sandy in 2012 injured many trees and damaged homes and gardens in the Northeast. We were hit pretty hard here at the Garden, losing well over 300 trees, some of which were more than 250 years old. The following links offer some good guidelines to follow after such a devastating storm.

If you have severe damage or are unsure what to do, we also recommend contacting a local arborist who can better assess the situation. Try the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) to see a list of certificated arborists in your area.
