How do I water my poinsettia?

Answer

When watering your poinsettia (Euphorbia pulcherrima), check the soil to see if it is starting to dry out, pour room-temperature water into the container early in the daylight hours.

Water the poinsettia thoroughly when the top few inches have dried out. Do not allow the plant to wilt, as this will cause inherent weakness and lead to quick demise.

Indoor humidity is usually low and will cause the plant to dry sooner during the week. Under favorable conditions, the bracts will remain attractive for a few months. Remove any fallen leaves or bracts as needed.
