Q. What and where is the tallest and oldest Coast Redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) east of the Mississippi?
Growing up in California, of course one of my favorite trees was the redwood. These majestic giants and their environment are truly a special retreat. The last time I visited my home state I went to an area of redwoods called Armstrong--so beautiful it takes your breath away.
Well, to answer your question I think American Forests will be able to give you a reliable answer.

- There is a coastal redwood in my hometown Hawkinsville, Georgia that I always heard was the tallest one east of the Mississippi, but I'm not sure. There is also another one around in Georgia somewhere.
