It's March 17, 2016 what's blooming?

Answer

Yes spring is showing up and lots happening in the Ladies’ Border right now!

One of the earliest plants to bloom, Adonis amurenis (Amur adonis) is still blooming.

Lots of Helleborus (lenten-rose), some Crocus and Galanthus (snowdrop) are still out and about.

Most exciting - our beautiful Edgeworthia chrysantha (paperbush) has just come into bloom!  Some camellias are still blooming.

Although not in the Ladies’ Border, but at the end, one of our oldest specimens of Magnolia kobus is in full bloom!

These are the main stars of Ladies’ Border right now but if I think of anything else, I’ll let you know.

Meanwhile, our Seasonal Walk is exploding with reticulated irises, Corydalis, Chionodoxa and Scilla – all early blooming bulbs. And early daffodils are flowering behind the library building.

Hope this helps!
