Indoor plants that flower and can take southern or western exposure and low humidity include Spathipyllum and Kalanchoe. One other recommended plant, although not flowering, has very colorful leaves; it’s called croton or Codiaeum variegatum. 

Spathiphyllum (peace lily) needs bright light but no direct sun. It would work in a south or west window although you will have to repot it as it grows bigger; it will grow to a good size plant. Place it a bit away from the window and not in the direct sunlight.

One of my favorite, easy care, flowering plants for spring and summer is kalanchoe (Kalanchoe blossfeldiana). This plant loves direct sun of a southern window, though west is fine too, and it doesn’t need much attention or watering. In fact, wait until it is almost dry before watering well and never let it sit in water. Kalanchoes have an array of bright colored flowers to choose from, are very low in price, and available most everywhere plants are sold. A 14” pot would accommodate the peace lily or multiple kalanchoe.
