Can weeping Fig Midnight survive the outdoors?

Answer

The weeping fig (Ficus benjamina) grows well outdoors in USDA Zones 10-11. Your zone in Temecula CA is probably 9b so your conditions are not ideal. Nevertheless, your tree should do well in a sheltered spot.  This species grows best in full sun but will tolerate some shade.  The cultivar 'Midnight' will tolerate a shadier location that most figs.  If the trees have just been planted  then keep them well watered (but not too wet) until they are well established. A word of warning - do not plant these tree close to the house as their extensive root system can damage structures.
