Do Iguanas eat poinsettias?

Iguanas eat poinsettias?

Answer

Planting to deter iguanas in the garden is a topic of growing concern in the southern United States. New information is being gathered daily and regional resources have more immediate, local knowledge on this issue than national ones.

We do not have invasive iguanas in the New York area and are, unfortunately, not able to offer much expertise or experience in this frustrating area of horticulture. We recommend that you contact the Cooperative Extension Office for the county in which you live for current information on iguanas in the garden. If you live in Florida, you can find an expert trained in Florida landscape questions by referring to the county guide at this link: http://sfyl.ifas.ufl.edu/find-your-local-office/.
