When is peak bloom time for roses?

Answer

Generally mid to late May into the first few weeks of June is peak bloom time for roses in the New York City area. Seasons can be early or late depending upon the weather that year. There can be another bloom cycle is in the fall, when temperatures begin to cool.

There are early and late bloomers and there are repeat-blooming roses that bloom off and on throughout the growing season. In a large rose garden like the Peggy Rockefeller Rose Garden at NYBG, roses can be found flowering from late spring, through the summer and into the fall.
