How can I find a qualified arborist?

Answer

A good place to start is the website of the International Society of Arborists (ISA). To be listed on this website, arborists must take a certification exam.

At the top of the web page, click on "Find an Arborist." On the next page, click on "Find an Arborist" again. This will bring up a search option you can use to look for arborists in your area, by either state name or zip code.

Of course, certification means the individuals listed passed an exam and so have a certain level of knowledge. The website doesn't discuss reputation. So as in any field, while the people listed are all certified, their level of expertise will vary.
