Q. Can you help us identify a plant we saw at NYBG in 2012?
Can you help us identify a plant we saw at NYBG in 2012? It's either a ground cover or very low-growing shrub, and all we remember about it is that it has elongated, narrow leaves, probably deep red or violet stems, and we are pretty sure it had a person's name (Biblical?) in the common name for it. We have searched your web site extensively and searched images on the Internet, to no avail...
Answer
Thank you for your question. I'm sorry to dissappoint you but we are not able to give you a clear identification of the plant you remember at the garden without a photograph and an idea of where in the garden it was planted.
If you find that you have a photo, please forward it to us at plantinfo@nybg.org and we will be glad to see if we can identify it.
