Q. Does my lithop need a root to survive?

Answer

Lithops, common name living stones.

Hello, and thank you for your question. Lithops needs its taproot which joins abruptly at the base of the leaves. Moisture and anchoring the plant is the job of the taproot. It will die without the taproot. http://www.lithops.info/

Hope this helps.
