I placed oriental poppy seeds on top of the snow. Is it possible they will germinate when the snow melts?

Answer

Hi Judy,

Your seed technique may work! A number of them may disappear in the snow melt run off but keep your eye out for seedlings in the spring and thin to allow them adequate spacing to grow. No guarantees, but poppy seeds can survive this treatment and let's hope for the best!
