Here are some organizations that can help you find the assistance you need planning or maintaining a garden. 

• Organic Land Care Program identifies landscaping businesses in your area that are accredited in organic growing principles, including nurseries, garden centers, ecological restoration specialists, stormwater management designers, and design and build practices.
• Ecological Landscape Alliance connects individuals with landscape professionals who promote ecological and sustainable landscape practices, including arborists, lawn care professionals, landscape contractors, designers and more.
• The Association of Professional Landscape Designers has a "Find a Designer" function that allows you to look for a professional in your area. You will get a list of names that you can click on to see websites with portfolios and descriptions of work.  Look for a designer with experience in sustainable environments.
• The American Society of Landscape Architects also has a tool to find a Landscape Architect near you.
• National Association of Landscape Professionals' "Find a Landscaper" tool will direct you to members within the area profile you select, link to their website and note any associated accreditation, awards of excellence or safety programs. For permanent professional placement, there is a job board to post openings.
