The leaf tips of my clivia plant keep tuning brown. What can I do?

Answer

The leaf tips of your clivia can turn brown for a number of reasons:

  • Plant is too close to an air conditioning or heat vent;
  • Plant is overfertilized;
  • Temperature too high in the winter rest period when just below 50ºF is optimal;
  • Not enough water or roots have grown so large that there is little soil left in the pot to hold the water;
  • Very low humidity.

Hopefully you will see an adjustment that will help. Our Guide to Clivia has additional care advice.
